Hampton 100 Years Ago out now

Home - images/democontent/icons/calendar_24.pngNews - Hampton 100 Years Ago out now

Hampton 100 Years Ago book coverThis newly published book, written by Hampton local historian John Sheaf, provides a fascinating description of Hampton 100 years ago.

It covers the layout of the village, the roads, the shops and pubs and some of the significant buildings at that time as well as the occupations of some of the householders. There is a separate section for every road that then existed; each with an individual map and related images.

This very well-illustrated book, with many pictures in sepia and colour, includes over ninety historic photos and illustrations and forty five maps and is published by the Borough of Twickenham Local History Society.

To order a copy online go to www.botlhs.co.uk and under Publications > In Print click on the image of the cover. Alternatively please send a cheque for £7.00 (which includes postage and packing), payable to “BOTLHS” to BOTLHS c/o 4 Thames Street, Hampton, Middlesex, TW12 2EA.

You can also get the book from the Cheese & Wine Shop on Station Road, The Jolly Coopers on High Street, Ruby’s on Priory Road and Syzygy (Hair salon), 33 Ashley Road.
